What are the relative disadvantages of the thermoplastic elastomer?

The thermoplastic elastomer is divided into the following points:

    1. it belongs to new technology, and ordinary rubber processing plant is not familiar with it.

    2. the processing equipment required for thermoplastic elastomers is not familiar with thermosetting rubber processing plants.

    3. some thermoplastic elastomers need to be dried before processing.

    4. low hardness thermoplastic elastomer can buy not much.

    5. thermoplastic elastomers will melt at elevated temperatures, so that they can not be applied to transient high temperature conditions.

    6. only large quantities of production can make thermoplastic elastomers economical.
